HSCN becomes AHRMM Canadian Chapter – May, 2008

The Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM) of the American Hospital Association is the premier organization for healthcare supply chain and materials management professionals.

AHRMM strengthens the healthcare supply chain by providing leadership, education, networking, and industryspecific resources to advance the field and enhance the professional development of its individual members. With approximately 4,000 members worldwide, AHRMM offers numerous opportunities for professionals to reach their highest potential and network with the best. HSCN, the Canadian healthcare supply chain group, is very closely aligned with AHRMM focus and principles. The HSCN board felt that being a chapter will benefit our members through increased visibility to other healthcare supply chain developments across the world. We are pleased to confirm that HSCN has been accepted as chapter affiliated with AHRMM at the Silver level. There are no costs to HSCN with this chapter affiliation.

While HSCN has achieved an affiliation with AHRMM, you must be an AHRMM member also to obtain specific AHRMM membership benefits through their website and educational programs. AHRMM’s Chapter Affiliation Program acknowledges AHRMM’s most outstanding chapters through four levels of recognition: Standard, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. To qualify for the varying levels, chapters must achieve a specified number of points from the previous calendar year's activities and have a targeted percentage of its membership affiliated with the AHRMM national association. At the Silver Level of Affiliation, a chapter is achieving above average results in the areas of membership development and chapter programs and services.

The Affiliation Program is not ongoing. Chapters must apply every year to participate. The Program begins on January 1 and runs through December 31. HSCN has been accepted for the current year and will re-apply in subsequent years.

As HSCN continues to grow in membership and services, we feel that this affiliation with AHRMM will give HSCN access to even more information on how the healthcare supply chain is evolving globally and help us profile the excellent work being done in Canada.
